Too Knowledgeable?

Is it wrong to know much?

There's a saying, "Katrathu kai mann alavu, Kallathathu ulaga alavu". Which translates to "What one knows is only a handful, whereas the unknown is the size of the world."

For example, if a person is in a sales department, Is it wrong for him/her to learn computer programming or human resource management or psychology in addition.

I ask this, because, many recruiters or people are confused to categorize such kind of individuals and are also not sure whether they would be suitable for the position which they are hiring.

One cannot blame the person who has knowledge in various departments. Because, it's the individual's interest to learn new things.
If a candidate is put on a waiting list or rejected, for knowing a lot, then, what is the use of saying that Knowledge is Power.
Does the term Multi Talented do exist?

Even, school students learn different subjects.
They are supposed to know each and every subjects taught and are meant to score well in all the subjects.

Is the knowledge gained should grow as a tree with lots of branches or is it confined to one single department?
